From 2003 until 2006 I regularly worked at NPO (Dutch public broadcasting) as art director with the design team to design the main portals of Dutch public broadcasting; which is the largest broadcasting organisation in The Netherlands. Starting with Omroep.nl, which featured an up to date summary of all broadcast content, to the first streaming platform of the Netherlands; Uitzendinggemist (1 year before Youtube made its entrance). After that I designed the main portals of Netherlands 1, 2, 3 and the experimental channel 4. Following more portals for film (Telefilm) and radio station online platforms such as FunX. Uitzendinggemist.nl often resided in the Dutch top 10 of most visited sites and was awarded Website of the Year 2007. All these platforms where highly succesful, many had millions of viewers and these projects where the transition to online presence for the NPO. Online NPO content and television started here; and many of these platforms set international standards for such content platforms.
